The purpose of the Teach North Texas induction program is to provide services and support to first and second year teachers. Program goals are to: (1) increase teacher retention in the classroom; (2) increase student learning, and (3) provide training and support so that new teachers can move along the continuum from novice to expert teachers.
Students who graduate from UNT and work in a Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex school district will have either a district mentor or university support. This program is currently funded by the BTIM (Beginning Teacher Induction and Mentoring) Cycle 4b grant.
All Teach North Texas and UTeach- Dallas new teachers and their mentors are invited to our Saturday induction sessions at the University of Texas- Dallas campus. Meetings are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will cover a variety of topics that are of interest and concern to new teachers. All meetings are held in the Founders North Building of the UT-Dallas campus.
